About Us

October of 1999, local musicians welcomed the arrival of Jeff Bloch’s Amp and Guitar Wellness Center to Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn. With over 40 years in the music industry, Jeff’s experience ranges from mixing sound for Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, to repairing equipment for such notable musicians as Jimi Hendrix, KISS and The Ramones.

The Amp and Guitar Wellness Center is described as a gathering place for musicians in a comfortable and professional environment. We specialize in buying, selling and repairing musical equipment and carry a full line of accessories. Accomplished professional musicians have already discovered the center to be an invaluable resource, well received by the large population of musicians in the area.

Music started for Jeff in the late 50’s when he got to see many of his music idols live at the Brooklyn Fox and Paramount Theaters. Years later Jeff found himself on the Fox Theater stage with Jay And The Americans and with his own group, The Uncalled For, at the infamous Murray the K Christmas Show.

In the early 60’s, while performing with the Sellouts, Jeff met John Sebastian of the Lovin Spoonful who encouraged him to write more music. Soon after, Jeff became a staff writer for the world famous record producers Richard Perry (Frank Sinatra, Ringo Starr, Barbara Streisand, Harry Nielsen, Leo Sayer) and Gary Katz (Steely Dan). At the same time Jeff expanded his technical knowledge when he joined Jess Oliver at The Oliver Sound Company.

In 1969 he opened his own business repairing amps and guitars. He also began building and renting sound systems, started a band called Big Mouth and went back to school for audio engineering. His sound company grew rapidly and toured with such bands as the Ramones, Blondie, Robert Gordon and The Fat Back Band while servicing and performing tour support for KISS graph
